Isaac Hers + SOREL = Awesome

I am so excited that SOREL chose Isaac Hers as the featured designer for their Fall 2012 lookbook!  Back in my undergraduate days, a long time ago, all the gals wore SORELs.  We were in upstate NY where it dumped snow all the time and they were the coolest and most rugged boots you could get.  Well, after SOREL contacted me about this lookbook collaboration, we were re-introduced.   And I can tell you that what I saw for next season really impressed me.  While still making their trademark style, they have really amped up their game with designs even the most fashion conscious gal would want to wear.  I mean it!

Wednesday, I met with SOREL’s advertising agency R West and the PR/Design folks from SOREL for the lookbook photoshoot.   The shoot was at R West offices both inside and up on their rooftop.  Luckily it was a gorgeous day!  Also, I had the pleasure of working with Jillian Rabe as a model!  Too fun!  I leave you with a few candid shots from the shoot (can’t show the shoes, you have to wait!).  More information to come. . . .

Isaac Hers Style: Meet Allison

Allison, what an amazing woman!  After knowing her only as an industry acquaintance, I invited her to be a part of our style series.  Since the shoot, however, I consider her a friend.  You see, Allison Jones is the force behind What Would Allison Want Me To Wear, a blog that chronicles loveliness in fashion combined with styling tips.  Just what we all need!  And, I will tell you, Allison has an great eye for style and is thus quite good at her profession, wardrobe styling and personal shopper!

Not only is Allison sartorially talented, she is a warm and delightful human being.  She came to the shop and her good spirit and supportive energy was palpable.  Wow, she just blew me away.  She has since helped out backstage at Con El Sol and brought the same spirit of love and support.  She also rocked the hoodie at this shoot, layering it under a blazer!  A great look, just LOVE HER!!

Describe your style: Simple, Classic with a Rock & Roll Edge.  A mix of the feminine and the masculine.  My 7-year-itch of living in New York City influenced my manner of dress.  I wear a lot of black.

What’s your Fall must-have or the trend you are most excited to try? I don’t really follow trends, only what I feel inspired to wear each season.  This Fall I am channeling my inner Patti Smith.  Great Fall Blazer with a crisp white shirt, leggings, motorcycle boots for kickers, cashmere fingerless gloves and a chunky warm scarf.  I am also drawn to a good suit this season, nicely tailored slacks, blazer, vest combo.

What are you wearing? Isaac Hers Sisters Hoodie, Vintage BILTRITE Steel-Toe Motorcycle Boots, Banana Republic Fitted White Button-Up Shirt, Vintage Black Blazer (there is no label in it and I don’t remember who it is by.  I have had it for years), Danskin Leggings and a Vintage Hermes Scarf.
